I would like to invite you to the Sixth Annual Golf Outing in  memory of Carol VanAuken, benefiting the Lustgarten Foundation for  Pancreatic Cancer Research.  I started this golf outing in my mother’s  memory because of the lack of awareness and research dollars for this horrible disease.  My mother was a healthy and happy 58 year old until her diagnosis.  However, when she was diagnosed it was too late, as it is with most pancreatic cancer patients.  We lost her six months later.                                    

     

The reasoning for lack of research is that "only" 36,000 people a year get this disease.  In my opinion, that’s 36,000 too many.  The 'Lustgarten Foundation' donates 100% of their monies towards research and that was a very important deciding factor for me in the foundation that I support. 

We will be holding the Sixth Annual Carol VanAuken Outing at the 'Indian Spring Country Club' in Marlton, New Jersey on Friday June 3rd, 2011 with a shot gun start at 1:00p.m.  Cost per golfer is $130.00 which includes; lunch, beer on the 1st and 9th holes, and dinner following the tournament at the club. However, if you or someone you know would like to only participate in the dinner portion we would be happy to see you.  Also, 50/50 tickets will be sold and an auction will be held during dinner to raise additional funds.

We are fortunate enough to have once again paired up with 'Marco’s Restaurant' who will be catering the event. Registration begins at 11:30am and BBQ lunch will start at noon.  We will be providing bus service starting and ending in Westmont, courtesy of Family Limousine.  The Family Limousine bus will be picking up at the Westmont Theatre promptly at 11:00am for golfers and 5:30pm for dinner.

What I’m asking you for today is that you participate in this important event, either as a golfer, a sponsor or by donating an item to be auctioned off.  Any type of support would be greatly appreciated!
